TEACHING
My teaching philosophy is based on the belief that learning is an active endeavor and students learn best through ‘experiences.’ Thus, in teaching, I use cooperative learning techniques, and emphasize group work, such as exercises, presentations, and other peer learning activities, to encourage students to work collaboratively.
As a teacher, my objective is to help students become critical thinkers, and develop research, writing, and speaking skills that will enable them to become successful in their future pursuits. I see it as my task to challenge students to question and examine things that they often take for granted, such as class, race and ethnic, gender, and geographic privileges.
